Kyle Shope, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Dr. Kyle Shope is a Hanover native who attended Lee-Davis High School, where he played soccer and was involved in multiple clubs and organizations. He would continue his education at Christopher Newport University (CNU) and graduate in 2021, earning a Bachelor of Science in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiology Biology with a minor in Leadership Studies. Upon graduation from CNU, Kyle started classes at the University of Lynchburg to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. During his three years at the University of Lynchburg, he served as his cohort’s President, served on the student nomination committee for the Virginia APTA, and held other leadership roles in the Community Health Center, an organization that serves the uninsured, underinsured, or whose benefits had been exhausted in receiving physical therapy treatment.
Kyle found his love of the profession early on in life due to sports injuries that required physical therapy and rehabilitation. As part of his university training, Kyle participated in multiple clinical rotations in the outpatient orthopedics field to gain valuable experience with general orthopedic pathologies and treatments. While Kyle treats all patient populations, his treatment philosophy focuses on manual therapy and exercises that allow patients to achieve independence and reach individual goals. In his free time, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and family participating in sporting and outdoor events.
