Wren Blackwell grew up in Mechanicsville, Virginia and attended Hanover High School, where she played varsity soccer. She earned her Bachelor of Science summa cum laude in exercise science from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with University Honors from Columbia University. While at Columbia she completed the Advanced Orthopedic Track and traveled to the Ohio State University for a clinical internship focused on treating endurance athletes. She is a published research author in the field of prosthetic function and earned the Dr. Alma S. Merians Research Award from Columbia for her contributions to advancing the field of physical therapy.
After graduating from Columbia Wren continued to conduct clinical research investigating knee cartilage defects with Dr. William Nordt of OrthoVirginia. She enjoys treating people of all ages with a variety of orthopedic injuries. She has specialized in dance medicine, temporomandibular dysfunction, and dry needling. In her spare time, she enjoys kayaking, hiking, and spending time with family, friends and her french bulldog.
